Hello everyone, this is Awais Kanwar, I have been engaged with teaching, research and academia for more than 10 years. This is a great coincidence when your hobby-cum-passion becomes your profession and you enjoy every single day doing it.
I love strength training and it has been a core propeller for maintaining and improving my mental and physical health. Connecting students to sports and sports-related activities has resulted in better engagement and character building.
I have been a senior high science teacher for 31 years, teaching in traditional classrooms, online synchronous courses and blended video conference/live classrooms. I have been a marker and item writer for both the Chemistry 30 and Physics 30 Provincial Diploma Examinations.
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy cross country and downhill skiing. My summers are spent gardening, golfing and hiking in the Rockies.
I have been a teacher for over 25 years teaching all levels of high school English Language Arts, as well as Music and CALM. I have marked English 30-1 diploma exams and enjoy working with young people tremendously.
In my spare time, I enjoy travel (especially to Sweden), music, and nature activities like cross-country skiing in winter and camping in summer.
I have been teaching high school core Math and Physics for over 25 years at the 10, 20, & 30 levels. I enjoy working with young people and feel passionate about their learning and building their skills in Math and Physics.
Besides teaching, I build custom homes and have been associated with building construction for last 25 years. I'm also certified aviation personnel.
